Monument to the Donetsk battlefield childhood

On June 1, 2017, on one of the Lenin Komsomol Park alleys took place the opening of a monument to the Donetsk children, who have been living for already three years literally on the front line. The monument by a young Moscow sculptor Denis Seleznyov, which was created due to the tremendous work of children and adult participants and sponsors of the international project of child diplomacy Peace to the World (“Miru-Mir”), was donated to Donbass children by Russian children.

On the day of installation and opening of the monument, Eduard Yakubovsky, the the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic visited the event and paid tribute to Donbass children and to those seeking to protect childhood from the horrors of war.

There, in the park, listening with pleasure to the laughter and shouts of children playing nearby, the Chief Justice of the Donetsk People's Republic addressed everyone with congratulations and wishes on the occasion of this most important for all adults and children day.

Today we once again celebrate an international holiday called the International Children's Day.

Today even the weather favors the festive mood.

You can hear, there, in the distance cheerful voices – those are our children having fun today on the occasion of the holiday.

Today at 12 o'clock in Lenin Komsomol Park took place the opening of the monument to Donbass children of the present wartime, living here, forced to stay here, often surviving shelling and bombing of our settlements by the troops of the Ukrainian Wehrmacht.

On this day, which is a holiday not only for children but also for adults, I want to wish everyone a peaceful sky above their heads, welfare, happiness, joy, prosperity, and all the best.

Thank you for attention!
