On October 30, 2017, the Military Tribunal, as the Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic, convicted citizen B., born in 1974, of committing crimes under part 3 of article 29 (Preparing for a crime and attempting a crime) and article 321 (Espionage) of the Criminal Code of the Donetsk People's Republic, and decided to impose a penalty in the form of 10 years of imprisonment in a strict-regime correctional colony.
Citizen B., being an adversary of the Donetsk People's Republic, registered in the social network "Twitter" in order to collect the information about location of military units, firing positions, number of servicemen, movement of military equipment of the Ministry of Defense of the Donetsk People's Republic, and other information for the purpose of transferring it to the representatives of the security service of Ukraine and using it against the security of Donetsk People's Republic. There from October 2015 to November 2016, he placed photographs taken by him on the territory of the DPR. He also published materials covering military equipment, location of military units, maps of the terrain, indicating the movement of military equipment, location of fire positions of the DPR, and other military information and the activities of the DPR, believing that the posted information will be received by the representatives of the special services of Ukraine or the Ukrainian Armed Forces and will be used against the security of the DPR.
