Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko participated in a meeting dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the liberation of Donbass

            A solemn meeting dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the liberation of Donbass from the Nazi invaders and the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Saur-Mogila took place at this memorial complextoday, on September 7, according to a correspondent of the DPR official website.

            The event was visited by Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, Deputy Chairman of the DPR Council of Ministers DmitriyTrapeznikov, representatives of ministries and departments, thousands of residents and guests of the Republic.

           “These days we celebrate the 74th anniversary since the Day of Liberation of Donbass from the Nazi invaders. 74 years ago, our grandfathers and great-grandfathers liberated Donbass. In 2014, we started to fight again. We promise — we will not lose our honor, the Victory will be ours. This is our land, we will not yield it to the enemy. Today, in this sacred place, we bow our heads low before the memory of the fallen defenders and liberators of our motherland,” the Head of the DPR said.

              To a three-time celebratory gunfire, all present observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the dead soldiers.

          The Head of the Republic laid flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers-liberators, and honored the memory of soldiers of the DPR who died during the hostilities in 2014.

            Minister of Defense of the DPR Vladimir Kononov, addressing the audience, also emphasized that residents of Donbass should remember the feat of Soviet soldiers and soldiers of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
