Alexander Zakharchenko took part in the meeting of the Ukrainian People's Tribunal

Alexander Zakharchenko, the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic, took part as a witness in the regular meeting of the Ukrainian People's Tribunal to investigate the crimes of the Poroshenko regime against the citizens of Ukraine (UPT).

Answering the questions of the judge, Zakharchenko emphasized that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the Donbas.

“The only way is a full implementation of the Minsk agreements. The only peaceful way to resolve the conflict is to strictly adhere to the Minsk agreements in the same order as they are prescribed in the relevant documents. If “Minsk” is not observed, then this conflict cannot be resolved peacefully”, the Head of the DPR said.

Alexander Zakharchenko also noted that the attempts of the Poroshenko regime to divide the Donbas are doomed to failure.

“Donbas is a single whole. Our brothers and sisters live there, it is impossible to break off artificially those ties that have been historically developed. We have a humanitarian program on reunifying the people of Donbas. We provide free medical care to citizens of Ukraine at the expense of the DPR funds, we educate children. It is impossible to break these ties. They have always been and will be. It is impossible to break one family. However much they want this, this will never happen,” Zakharchenko said answering prosecutor's question about how in Donetsk in the conditions of war they interact with residents of areas controlled by Kiev.

According to the Head of the DPR, the war in the Donbas is the genocide of the population of the region by Kiev, the most terrible crime since the Great Patriotic War.

"What is happening now is the most terrible tragedy that our land has experienced since the Great Patriotic War. Systematically, from 2014, pensions have been reducing, and then ceased to be paid. To date, Ukraine does not make any social payments. All social payments are made on the part of the DPR. Enterprises of metallurgy, on which we have introduced external management, together with employees and members of their families, amount to about 150-180 thousand people. They tried to deprive these people of bread, of their wages, of the opportunity to dress and to teach their children,” said Alexander Zakharchenko.

Meanwhile, the situation on the front line, according to the Head of the Republic, is currently exacerbating.

“To date, the situation on the front line is being complicated, judging by the number of shelling and attempts to probe our positions, I think that Ukraine is preparing for a new offensive,” Zakharchenko concluded.

It has to be recalled that the People's Tribunal was created by an initiative group of citizens of Ukraine from Donetsk and Lugansk. Charges by UPT were brought against eight people. Among them Peter Poroshenko, Arsen Avakov, Alexander Turchinov, Vladimir Groisman, Victor Muzhenko, Stepan Poltorak, Andrei Parubiy, Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
