On January 9, 2018, Alexander Zakharchenko, the Head of the DPR held a working meeting with the representatives of the judicial system of the Republic. According to the correspondent of the official website of the DPR, the following members took part in the meeting: Dmitry Trapeznikov, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the DPR, the Head of the Department for Internal and External Policy of the Administration of the Head of the DPR, Eduard Yakubovskiy, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the DPR, and members of the judiciary.
In 2015, judges of the Supreme Court, the Arbitration Court, as well as judges of cities and districts started their work. The term of office of judges constitutes 3 years. Today, 30 judges of the Republic who started to perform their duties in 2015, after passing the re-attestation, have been renewed in their posts. The meeting of Alexander Zakharchenko, the Head of the DPR with the employees of the judiciary was dedicated to this particular event.
"Our judiciary has been operating for almost three years. These were difficult three years. Among the positive stuff I would like to note that the problems that we have faced were serious, but we were able to overcome all difficulties, our courts are operating. In three years you have done much, you almost moved heaven and earth. Thank you very much for your work.
Among negative stuff, I can mention the fact that there are a lot of cases in the Republic, which were opened before 2014. Dear friends, we should break with our Ukrainian past. There is no way back, we are on the path of the state independence. And we build the state with our own hands. Therefore, I strongly require you to deal with the cases dragging from 2014 in the nearest future.
As for the positive stuff: I know perfectly well that the Supreme Court is categorically against the recruitment of judges who fled from us in 2014. I fully share this position. We, like the rest of our people, have shared the fate of our state, we are fighting for it.
You stand on guard of law and order. And you carry out your work correctly and clearly," said Alexander Zakharchenko.
Recall that the judicial system of the Republic was created by the Resolution No. 40-2 of the Council of Ministers of the DPR on October 22, 2014.
