In connection with media attention caused by detention of Evgeniy Brazhnikov in 2016 on suspicion of storage of a large number of ammunition and weapons, the Press Service of the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic reports:
On July 25, 2018, after having considered the case of the accused, the Supreme Court of the DPR decided to convict him of committing crimes under Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Donetsk People's Republic (Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition, substances and explosive devices).
Based on Part 3, Article 68 of the Criminal Code, the court sentenced Evgeniy Brazhnikov to 8 years imprisonment.
The sentence has taken effect.
